Pre-Trip Hype

I believe it was over 6 months ago when the first mention of Bandon Dunes was thrown out there.  Actually, after searching through my email, it looks like Friday October 7th, 2011 the following was sent by Chad Thompson:

"We've talked about this for years. It's time to step up boys!
May 16-19, 2012.  Who is in? Show yourselves!"

The first thought that entered in my mind was this, "Sounds like the trip of a lifetime, too bad I won't be there."  There were a few things holding me back and the price of the trip was #1.  I just couldn't see being able to justify the cost of playing multiple rounds of golf in Oregon even though the courses are rated some of the greatest public courses in America.  Not to mention that May 16 was a Wednesday which would mean I would have to "call in sick" 3 days in a row.

A few days later, on October 10th, the following email was sent:

Committed so far:

Shackie
Cook
Cragun
Cort
Bags
Hantz
Nelly
ORD
DRO- I'm penciling him in whether he likes it or not.

No Response: DRO

OUT: TOD..Fag Face!

Our goal is 12

Cort, what are the chances of getting Blove out? Is he making some scratch yet? Maybe ord can pay for blove since he wants to hire him? Hantz, how bout Mckee? Nelly, would Noodles or Watty be interested? those guys would be sweet.

Dro, you were the one who asked if we were gonna do a huge golf trip to celebrate most of your guys 40th bday. Well, it looks like we are and no word from the Dro? Dude, tell loubige that you will give her a hundred back rubs or whatever you do to butter her up and lets get this thing done! Dude, Hansen, Ord, and Bags will be there.....those guys are hacks...we can roll those old farts for tons of cash! Remember when we rolled Howard and Bags? EZ MONEY BABY! :)

Lets do Diss!

Shrackie

Obviously, this email was a key component into me thinking that maybe I should look a little more closely at this trip.  Could it actually happen?  Would I be able to save enough money?  Would Lou Ann allow me to "go for it?"  Afterall, I did want something to remember my 40th birthday and this would definitely be something to remember....
